Hello Supporters and followers! As I type this blog my mind keeps wandering to so many different things that I have done over the past few weeks and things that I have accomplished. I think the thoughts keep stirring in my mind because I am so happy to be able to continue to do God's work even with little mobility, pain and discomfort. I strive for what Jesus commands us to do and that's GO!
Our family had the opportunity to serve and accommodate for three children over Spring Break. They stayed with us for five days and during those five days we were able to teach the children how to serve Gods people. Our family served them and met every need. We took them horseback riding, and to Round Rock to serve at Mission U-Too. We ate frozen yogurt together and made lots of great memories. We even baked cookies and hunted for chicken and duck eggs. The reason for this blog is not to boast about what I have done or what my family has done, but its to share with you, that serving can be done in any type of way. We had the opportunity to show Christ's love with children in our home. We took them to show them how to love our community and to be a part of Gods purpose; His people. Their eyes were opened to things they haven't seen before. Just like our hearts when we accept Jesus. We feel something we've never felt before. The Holy Spirit is powerful. I went from a life that made no sense and relationship struggles that should not have been. I look back on my old life and now my new life and I'm excited to see my family being disciples and training up our children to be on mission. Just like what we were doing with our extra guests. Friends I encourage you to serve Gods people and those who are unchurched. If you don't, then how can we as Christians say we did the best we could to reach others? It starts by relationships, love, serving, listening, prayer and trust and then we can teach them the gospel and train them up to be on mission. My prayer is for those youngsters we had over, will take what they had learned and one day GO and not allow the enemy to stray them from Jesus' last words. Christian's be on mission and serve. Don't just serve inside the church. Serve outside the building and be the church. Don't let excuses come between you and God. He doesn't give us any excuses. Serving Christ, Christy and Family

As most of you know today was my assessment day with the physical therapist. I don't have to much to say because we still don't have to many answers. Other than I do have an underlined issue with my back. I will continue to do aquatics and bike. I'm also going to use a few other machines to slowly help with more strengthening. I have improved more with my strengthening and my ability to do certain things. Next Wednesday I will have another consultation with the Neurosurgeon. He will look over my PT information and what my therapist has to offer. I am thankful for my progression and also that certain muscles are healed. However a bit bummed because I am still sore and in pain. And we believe the issue is my sacrum/pelvis area and my disc is being irritated either because of my scoliosis or cysts. Same with my sciatica nerve. I have also started getting involved again with our Youth. I'm very excited to be able to push through the pain and discomfort and to disciple some young ladies. I am also involved in discipling single and married ladies. I have been consistent with serving the past few weeks. Which is a big step for me. Again I endure the discomfort and find peace in the Lord to help me through the difficult times. I have been dealing with a spiritual warfare myself on some personal things that I'm working through. I am amazed everyday when I press into God he reveals things that I need to work through. And it's a process. It doesn't happen overnight. I am so thankful I am able to be able to go to my heavenly Father and let my burdens out and leave them at the cross. I have taken a few steps forward and I continue to keep on going no matter how hard/rough things can get. Ashley has been dealing with a few complications herself. Her and I are trying to work through them together with her doctor and a specialist. Because of them being female issues I won't go into detail. Now that basketball is over she can take the time on getting her better. She's still doing great in school. She's involved at the HS in FCA and she also mentors a female Pre-Teen. It's amazing watching her be a leader and watching her grow. Jordan has been doing good. Other than the paint ball incident. He was shot in his pink last Sunday and it's still bothering him and looks yucky. He's been doing good with his seizures. He will be going in for his 12 year check up in the next two weeks. We also follow up with his Neurologist as well. Jonah is doing wonderful. He's having to prioritize some things. Because Mission Utoo is growing Jonah has a lot on his plate. We are adding two new locations with the next 2 weeks to a month. He's also putting together a business plan for Texas Smokers. Jonah has been wonderful. Even with his busy schedule he still takes me to the doctors, specialty appointments and to PT. He's been a big help! We have a few unknown things that has popped in the last week or two. Were still working on details and what the outcome is of those things. Once the details are worked out I will post more. If you feel led to donate to our family please do. Working as Missionaries we raise our own support in order to continue to do God's work. Hope all is well family and friends. |
